Sales Manager
Job Description: Sales ManagerOverview: We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to oversee the sales operations of our facility. The Sales Manager will lead a team and be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding customer relationships, and optimizing sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a sales team.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase market share.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, distributors, retailers, and partners.
- Maintain a sales relationship with current customers communicating availability, pricing, staging, and promoting an orderly sale of current and future availabilities.
- Develop sales strategy with customers for long-term goals and programs.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional campaigns.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for product diversification and growth.
- Oversee inventory control and ensure that product supply aligns with customer demand and seasonal requirements.
- Work with Vendors/Customers to determine lead times to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure smooth and accurate order processing by the Order Desk.
- Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills and performance.
- Analyze sales data and prepare regular reports to track performance and inform strategic decision-making.
- Present daily, weekly, and monthly reports including items such as short-term goals, vision, accomplishments, priorities, challenges, and changes.
- Learning our software systems, Plant Partner Enterprise and Spire, will be required to effectively manage sales, inventory, and production.
- Travel as required to meet customers locally and outside of Ontario as well as attend industry related trade shows to promote Waldan Gardens and our products.
- Be accountable for production and financial targets.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of Business to Business Sales Experience.
- Proven experience in sales management, ideally within the industry.
- Proven experience in forecasting, projections, capacity, inventory control, and lead times.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
- Follow through on your commitments to staff and customers, build rapport with customers, be self sufficient.
- Be a Team Player; have the ability to adapt, and have a customer first mindset.
- Be extremely organized and encompass strong multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management abilities.
- Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and implement tactical and strategic plans.
- Have a positive, can-do attitude; be highly motivated and results-driven.
- Be confident, articulate, and detail-oriented, with the ability to effectively communicate and ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Experience in the floral industry is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with retail and wholesale markets for floral products.
Salary: Competitive pay based on experience (100K+)
