Sales Manager





The Opportunity


The Sales Manager leads and manages the Sales Team and works closely with all departments to provide an unparalleled customer experience resulting in loyal customers and successful business outcomes for Waldan Gardens.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a sales relationship with current customers communicating availability, pricing, staging, and promoting an orderly sale of current and future availabilities
  • Develop sales strategy with customers for long term goals and programs
  • Present daily, weekly, and monthly reports including items such as short term goals, vision, accomplishments, priorities, challenges, and changes
  • Set vision and direction to accomplishing sales and production goals
  • Promote corporate values to create strong company culture
  • Learning our software system, Plant Partner Enterprise, will be required to effectively manage sales, inventory, and production
  • Coordinate communication of daily goals between sales and the greenhouse. Assist in creating the trucking schedule to satisfy both parties
  • Establish and set priorities with the Team Lead and Project Leaders to accomplish tasks
  • Travel – as required to meet customers locally and outside of Ontario as well as attend industry related trade shows to promote Waldan Gardens and our products
  • Coordinate trucking as required outside of the local shipping area
  • Work with vendors to determine lead times to ensure on-time delivery
Required Experience:

  • Sales Manager Experience: 2 years
  • Business to Business Sales Experience: 5 years
  • Proven experience in production planning, forecasting, projections, capacity, inventory control, lead times, and logistics
  • Experience working within the floral industry, specifically Kalanchoes, is an asset
  • Be able to work well in a team including being a leader and giving directions or being a participant and taking directions
  • Follow through on your commitments to staff and customers, build rapport with customers, be self sufficient
  • Have strong interpersonal skills for effective communication that produces results
  • Be able to read, comprehend, and interpret instructions
  • Be accountable for production and financial targets
  • Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude; be highly motivated and results-driven
  • Thrive in a busy atmosphere with changing priorities
  • Be a Team player, have the ability to adapt, and have a customer first mindset
  • Be extremely organized and encompass strong multitasking skills
Other Job Details:

  • Start Date: Mid-Late May
  • Monday-Friday, Full-Time
  • Start time varies based on the sunrise; 6:30am – 7:30am
  • Saturdays – as required typically during our peak seasons (Valentines Day through Mother's Day)
